Established: 1990
Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram is India’s first and one of the world’s most sustainable IT parks. Established with the vision of positioning Kerala as a major player in the global IT map, Technopark today hosts over 486 companies employing more than 72,000 professionals. The campus, spread over 750 acres, integrates green architecture, renewable energy, and social infrastructure ,earning it a reputation as one of the world’s greenest technopolises. Technopark has played a transformative role in shaping Kerala’s IT economy, serving as an incubation hub for startups, SMEs, and multinational corporations alike. Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT)
Established: 1988
C-DIT is one of Kerala’s earliest technology institutions and a cornerstone of the State’s digital journey. It was created to explore the convergence of imaging, electronics, and communication technologies. Over the years, C-DIT has expanded into software development, IT-enabled services, digitization, and multimedia production. It has been instrumental in developing e-Governance solutions, digital archives, and online platforms for government departments.
Today, C-DIT functions as a Total Solutions Provider for the public sector ,bridging creativity and technology to make governance more transparent, accessible, and citizen-oriented.
Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM)
Established: 2006
KSUM serves as the nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and the implementing body of the Kerala Technology Startup Policy. Its mission is to build a vibrant startup culture by supporting innovators, entrepreneurs, and technology-based ventures at every stage of growth. KSUM’s initiatives include incubation support, funding programs, innovation grants, startup accelerators, and global partnerships. The Mission manages over 60+ incubators and has supported more than 5,000 startups in areas like deep tech, AI, robotics, IoT, and biotechnology. By linking academia, industry, and investors, KSUM has positioned Kerala as one of India’s most promising startup-friendly states, often cited as a model for inclusive innovation.
Infopark
Established: 2004
Infopark was created to anchor the growth of IT and IT-enabled services in central Kerala. Located in Kakkanad, Kochi, the park covers 260 acres, with satellite campuses at Koratty (Thrissur) and Cherthala (Alappuzha).
It hosts a dynamic ecosystem of IT/ITES companies, global enterprises, and startups, providing employment to tens of thousands of skilled professionals.
Infopark’s modern campus infrastructure includes plug-and-play workspaces, business incubation centres, and premium commercial spaces supported by seamless connectivity and green initiatives. With its strategic proximity to the Cochin International Airport and major ports, Infopark is a vital economic driver that connects Kerala’s IT industry to global markets.
Maker Village
Established: 2016
Maker Village is India’s largest electronic hardware incubator and ESDM (Electronic System Design & Manufacturing) facility. A joint initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) and Kerala Startup Mission, it is implemented by Digital University Kerala (formerly IIITM-K). The facility empowers hardware startups to prototype, test, and manufacture products using advanced resources like embedded labs, testing facilities, and R&D mentorship. Maker Village has incubated over 100 hardware startups, producing innovations in IoT devices, robotics, medical technology, and consumer electronics. It has redefined India’s approach to hardware entrepreneurship by enabling end-to-end support ,from idea to market.
Cyberpark
Established: 2009
Cyberpark, located in Kozhikode, extends Kerala’s IT footprint into the northern region of the State. Conceived as a hub for IT/ITeS companies, Cyberpark offers customizable workspaces, smart infrastructure, and sustainable operations.
Its strategic design ensures scalability for both startups and global corporations, with state-of-the-art data connectivity, business continuity facilities, and green certifications. Cyberpark is rapidly emerging as the growth engine of North Kerala, promoting equitable development across the State’s digital corridor and providing high-quality employment opportunities in the Malabar region.
Kerala SpacePark (K-SPACE)
Established: 2022
K-SPACE is Kerala’s visionary initiative to foster innovation and investment in the space technology, aviation, and defense sectors. Designed to nurture industries across launch vehicles, satellites, ground systems, and applications, it serves as a gateway for India’s private space sector. The Park is envisioned as an integrated ecosystem combining R&D labs, testing facilities, training centres, and business incubation units.
K-SPACE represents Kerala’s strategic entry into frontier technologies, positioning the State at the forefront of India’s emerging space economy.
FabLab Kerala
Established: 2020
FabLab Kerala democratizes innovation by giving creators access to world-class digital fabrication facilities. Equipped with 3D printers, CNC routers, laser cutters, and PCB milling machines, these labs allow anyone ,from students to entrepreneurs ,to turn ideas into tangible products. Established in collaboration with the MIT Center for Bits & Atoms (USA) and Kerala Startup Mission, FabLabs operate at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kerala Technology Innovation Zone, Kochi.
Beyond fabrication, FabLab Kerala promotes STEAM education, maker culture, and rapid prototyping, fostering a generation of creators who are technologically empowered and globally competitive.
